Following the tracks of Samuel Hahnemann
We studied the original instructions for the manufacture of Mercurius solubilis Hahnemanni written in the apothecary´s excyclopedia from 1793 and then produced this substance.
1. Starting material: Nitric acid 99%, mercury, ammonia solution (25%).
2. Dissolving of the pure mercury in iced nitric acid, which produces mercury nitrate (Hg(NO3)2).
3. Mercury nitrate
4. Dissolving of mercury nitrate in aqua demineralisata followed by its mixing with ammonia solution. Dark Mercurius solubilis precipitates. Filtration of the material after the chemical reaction has ended.
